Never had a cold sore, does that mean I don't have HSV-1? (I have extreme fear!)?

No, you could still be a carrier of the virus, meaning you don't normally get outbreaks but could possibly spread the virus. You could have gotten it from your mom while she was pregnant with you or often afterward from sharing a drink. Sometimes, you can have it for years and years and never have an outbreak until years later when your immune system just gets very low and allows it. However, unlikely you will spread it to anybody.
