Would you vote for a political candidate that was a registered offender?

What if there was a charismatic, articulate, and qualified candidate who represented all your political views well and he was running against an incompetent, uneducated inbent who misrepresented your views? And what if the qualified candidate was a registered offender who molested a child over twenty years ago and he repented? Would you vote for him?
