Trying to lose weight- best diet?

I'm doing 200 crunches a night, but understand that even though I'm doing the crunches I really won't see the results because of afll the belly blubber covering the abs. I cannot do the carb diet; I've tried it and it never works out. What's another diet that I could go on? Maybe give me recipes or something?
